Founded in 2006

getStrange Productions is the offshoot of The New TV (2004) and the Youngstown Channel (2005). Created by Tim Sokol, and Joined by Dirk Fischer and Nick Carano, getStrange Productions was the next logical step in the ladder for Sokol's Internet Production efforts and a continuation of his previous company Falkon Enterprises(technologies).

The Early Years

After Doing a live feed to Iraq for the Marines in 2004 CEO Tim Sokol was so astounded by the response from the families, the troops, and the attendees, that he decided it was time to open his long thought about and anticipated Internet Television Station. On May 3rd 2004 TheNew.TV was born along with The Piercing Show (formerly located at thepiercingshow.com) and within a matter of weeks was making headlines across the county and the State. The Piercing Show was later canceled when Company Financier Dennis Roller felt that the content was to brazen and bold and that the station should TONE DOWN its broadcasts. Hence the creation of (youngstownchannel.com) which is now Youngstown Happenings. This New Internet television Station, the FIRST ONE EVER in Ohio and one of the very few in the entire US, began to broadcast City Council, County Commissioners Meetings, local Grand Openings and other events of importance to the community. Although it did not make any money, it did make a lot of friends, simply check our References for some of the people who stand behind our CEO's name and his ability to deliver the best, most interesting, and most reliable content on both the regular and mobile internet.

On with the Show
Shortly after killing the Piercing Show and opening the Youngstown Channel a new show "Make Me Over Please" was brought on board and Dirk Fischer,(one of the most talented and brightest stars of the production industry) was brought on board. Make Me Over Please was simply a makeover show on the web, but did some great things, like ambush makeover's for needy individuals, makeover's for survivors of Breast Cancer during Breast Cancer awareness month and many more great and innovative things. That show was also canceled in favor of focusing on local government and community happenings despite the fact that these concepts did not produce adequate revenue. On the bright side however it did inspire other Communities, including Los Angeles California to build and create networks of their own in order to make Government more accessible to the people so it was not a total loss. Also many great friends, partners, and life long business associates were also made.

The next step
After being a starving artist for almost 2 years while serving the community and putting our government and city events online it was decided that enough was enough and we contacted Nick "THE MAN" Carano. We learned about Nick through our good friend the Skinner Man who said Nick was a really cool guy with awesome ideas and a whole boat load of killer camera equipment. So we called Nick and a couple other guys and had a little meeting, went online and thus getStrange Productions was born. The rest was history. Unfortunately however our key people still ended up roped and tied to The New TV. Sad but true, a company that our CEO founded, but yet had absolutely no say so in how it was run, or what was done there. By this time we were all out of money, and out of gas so to speak, but the dream lived on.

Down and Dirty
In an effort to revive our ideas, and our love for the entire concept of Internet Broadcasting, our Chief Exec took off for California to become a producer of all new, all live, all crazy Adult Entertainment. We are not interested in moral judgments, just a free, safe, productive society that works on a logical basis of thought. The concept was great, and it worked very well, but sadly enough we could just not keep models long enough to make it worth it. Cash up front to hired qualified models was not on hand and no one wanted to wait for a paycheck so back to Ohio and back to the grind he came.

The Present
Never being one to be beaten, our Chief Exec went on the trail to find new clients, new concepts and new technologies to move us forward into 09. Also the reviving of One in a Hundred Million which is going from book to movie is helping as well. So here is to our up and coming movie, our new YouTube Series getStrange Investigates, and a great year of fun and excitement producing the wackiest, weirdest, and of course, Strangest material the web has ever seen. Thanks to everyone who has helped us along the way get to where we are, and thanks to all our viewers and fans, we love you all.
